What are Plasma injection Treatments? Plasma Injections are a highly sought-after, non-surgical cosmetic treatment that uses a substance that is extracted from a patient’s own blood to promotes healing and skin rejuvenation when re-injected. This is a well-researched form of regenerative medicine and studies have demonstrated that these plasma injections can harness the body’s healing abilities and amplify the natural growth factors the body uses to heal tissue, including skin. Plasma is a key component of blood that contains proteins and growth factors, that assists blood clotting and supports cell production. We utilise these benefits by extracting blood from the patient, isolating the useful components in a centrifuge and concentrating it. Nothing else added and no artificial ingredients. The idea is that injecting PRP into damaged tissues will stimulate your body to grow new, healthy cells and promote healing. What this means is that the body that provides the blood must be healthy in order to get the best outcome, so patients who smoke, drink to excess and have a poor diet don’t achieve the same results as patients who follow a healthy lifestyle. How Plasma Injections work When we draw up, concentrate and re-inject key parts of blood, the injections initiate a ‘local stem cell response’.  This means that the injection will helps in collagenesis and elastogenesis –  building new collagen and elastin – and build new blood vessels. This process is similar to the goals of laser skin rejuvenation; it helps to repair and regenerate damaged skin tissue leading to healthier skin tissue and a refreshed appearance.  Because we are using injections, there is little or, more likely, no downtime.  As with any injection, some bruising may occur. Why we use Dermal Filler Injections Plasma injections are used widely in sports injury management and physical therapy to treat torn tendons, tendinitis, muscle injuries, arthritis-related pain, and joint injuries.  We use the same treatment in cosmetic medicine to heal damaged and aged skin to renew a youthful appearance, create a smoother skin texture, reduce pigmentation, address skin laxity and sagging and also for hair loss. Unlike dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections Plasma Injections are not instantly noticeable, and are most apparent after at least six months. They are not permanent and patients often require re-treatment once a year to maintain the effect. Because Plasma Injections use a patient’s own blood, they have a high safety profile and can be used alone but more commonly in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures. Where we use Plasma Injection treatments: We use this treatment to improve the appearance of skin in:
