A GP referral is not required to book a consultation in any service area. Patients may enquire directly. Where a patient has been referred by a GP or another practitioner, the referral letter is incorporated into the assessment.
Medicare rebates
For vein services, the initial consultation and venous duplex ultrasound scan are eligible for a Medicare rebate. Vein treatment that is medically necessary is also eligible for a Medicare rebate, subject to the clinical findings of the duplex ultrasound assessment and the criteria set by Medicare. Treatment performed for cosmetic reasons alone does not attract a rebate. Eligibility is assessed individually and confirmed at consultation. A GP referral is not required and attending without one does not affect Medicare rebate eligibility.

Scope of practice and referral
